Fitness!

Gotta get back to a reasonable level of fitness. I’ve put on at least 20 lbs of fat if not more. Time in the gym is nearly non-existent (until recently). My diet is not terrible, but there is most definitely a lot of indulgence. Breakfast is always healthy; a nice egg, bacon, & cheese toasted sandwich. Lunch may be leftovers of a good meal the night before, or it might be ordered in Poutine. Same with dinner. It might be a good meal like chicken, rice, and bell peppers, or it might be a pizza.

During the summer, I put in a decent amount of cycling, but it’s mostly fairweather riding. My gym time is also dependent on easy access to the gym in my schedule. So when I was going to the office in-person, I got into a good 10 week streak. Once I started working from home, that disappeared. Since I only go into the office 2 consecutive days, this didn’t allow for more than 1 day in the gym. I then added going in on Saturdays since parking is free and there’s no time constraint. I recently checked out the city gym and have been going there on Mondays.

The city gym is affordable(10$ per use), especially if I only go once per week. It’s fairly barebones in terms of equipment, but as long as there’s a squat rack and barbell, I’m happy. I’m doing the StrongLifts 5×5 program.
